When a TV sits idle, the Bienvue screensaver gently cycles through your public cards. You can also display a QR code on screen so guests can scan it with their phone camera. You can configure this on the Sharing page under On the TV screensaver:
- No code: the screensaver displays your public cards without any QR code. This is the default setting.
- Your public page: displays a QR code that opens your public guide page, featuring your welcome note and public places. Make sure your public page is turned on before selecting this option. See Your public page.
- Your full guide: opens your complete guide, including sensitive details like Wi-Fi credentials and access codes.
The full guide code
Because anyone standing in front of the TV can scan this code and view your private property details, Bienvue asks you to confirm before turning it on.
- The code automatically rotates every week, and each generated code remains valid for two weeks.
- Choosing Replace now revokes the active code immediately if you need to retire it early. Anyone who scanned that previous code will no longer be able to open the guide with it. The TV will display the fresh code the next time the screensaver activates.
- If you switch away from Your full guide to another option, the private code is retired right away.
Remember that refreshing a code prevents future access, but it cannot take back information a guest already viewed or saved.
If your public page is turned off
If your screensaver is configured to show Your public page and you disable your public page later, Bienvue automatically switches the screensaver back to No code and informs you of the change. If you turn your public page back on later, your screensaver stays on No code until you choose to enable the QR code again.
If it doesn't work
- "Set up your public page above first": enable your public page switch and make sure you have added an introduction or at least one public Place card.
- The TV doesn't show a code yet: the television creates and loads its first QR code the next time the screensaver starts up.
